About Us
AWELE Academy is a coding school & intensive bootcamp for African girls located in Lagos, Nigeria. Founded in 2015 our first cohort will commence April 2016. We offer a three-month full-time immersive software career accelerator because we believe it is time to empower young African girls with skills to join the global Tech revolution. We offer computer science fundamentals, modern web languages like JavaScript, Python, Ruby Rails, MEAN Stack framework (MongoDB, ExpressJS, AngularJS, and Node.js) and emerging technologies as big data analytics and data science. We seek professionals and volunteers interested in spending 2 – 3 weeks in our school in Nigeria to help facilitate software development and leadership training. We also seek mentors and organizations to offer internships to our students. We prepare our girls to join top flight engineering teams and to contribute innovative perspectives that help drive growth for local and global companies. Join us!
